Over 30 years ago a secret cabal of rosicrucian dadaist anarchist magicians that had existed in the shadows of society for hundreds of years decided to spread their message through this groovy ‘pop music’ thing in order to reach the ‘kids’ and thus formed the organism known as Comet Gain.

Through a rigorous process of pulling names from a MAGICAL hat – it was thought that the best way to disseminate these esoteric messages was through the 45 seven inch record, and use a mixture of different cult musical forms to hopefully ensnare more youths – thus Indie Pop/Garage Punk/Northern Soul/Psychedelic Mod/Folk Rock etc were the templates best delivered.

Over the years the membership changed as ‘musicians’ either ‘ascended’ or mysteriously disappeared, but original member David Christian Feck (his real name is unknown) has remained.

This four-track 7” EP also features occasional traveller John McKeown (also known for his creations Yummy Fur/1990s/Trans etc), and current long-standing member Anne-Laure Guillain.

This most recent transmission from the ‘cult’ (even the band have no idea how many singles they’ve made, but its probably more than The Beatles, although slightly less successful) is largely songs considered for their new hit LP “Letters To Ordinary Outsiders” (out now on Tapete Records), but due to that bloody magical hat again didn’t make it, despite certain people saying ‘but they’re better songs you div!’.

There’s also a new song that hatched out of a dream about cult American sci-fi/not sc-fi angry beatnik punk author Harlan Ellisson.

These songs vibrate with “who gives a f***” energy as the cult organisation allowed the group to do as they wilt for one record. The fine fellows at Spinout Nuggets outbid all the other big labels at the big auction thing and will surely reap the rewards as these bullets of golden year melody and vibrant visceral OH YEAH! hit the top of the pops for all ages-lucky you to have this opportunity to be able to purchase this once in a lifetime slice of fabtitude.
